I've been using a 10' Rival for about a year and a half with a 4K Stradic & 20# Suffix 832 for light surf/bay plugging. This particular combo has good balance. The lure rating is pretty accurate- I wouldn't go higher, but it can launch down to 3/4 oz. with no problem. The rod loads beautifully, is very light and well constructed. I bought it due to consistent good (real) reviews on fishing boards (e.g. SOL, which has a long thread) and it has lived up to them. Have not had to use customer service personally, but hear that it is good.

go through 200 of these a year. fish for cobia,yet mono leaders are no match for the sharks that visit my chum slick. these hooks are strong and very sharp. no failures on big cobia and reasonably priced to lose on sharks

Got this rod for heavy plugging. Overall its a good rod but the ratings are a bit high for it. It casts up to 5oz plugs easily and can work the smaller cup plugs. While it can throw 8oz it could not work the larger cup plugs, the pole flexed to much. If you're using it for baitcasting it'll throw 6 and bait easy. The pole is not stiff as expected, it is rather soft. I haven't brought anything heavier than 3 lbs. but it handled it fine although the rod was bent over pretty good for a m/h. Finish was good, my reel seat was defective but the problem was handled quickly. Customer service is excellent!

what's the sweet loading spot on this rod?

I am interested in 2 of these rods ( DBO8TCSCV402L ) . My question is do you have any that might have a flaw in the cork tape or the eva at the end of the handle that you could discount. I intend to take off the cork tape and eva on the handle end and replace with x-flock.

Is #12 casting tip top TIO DBSG-TB1 the one I need for my Royal DB08TCSCV402L ?

Light weight solid seat. Will go really well with carbon fibre grips. The fixed hood end can be easily recessed into the grip if desired. Good price also!!
